New volunteers – your chance to help thousands of lives, have fun, learn new skills with a fun team

Are you ready to make some changes, be a part of something new, as a fully inclusive community group, and now a registered charity we are taking the next 3 weeks to recruit some incredible new volunteers. You can still come along to some sessions and chat in person, or contact us direct with your interests [email protected] – we would love to hear from you!

Relaunching on the 9th March, then with celebratory events 16th March, 18th March, 24th March, 14th April & 16th April – as well as a regular sessions and timetable, this is a perfect time to create some positive changes!

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP? HERE ARE JUST SOME OF THE WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED!

  • Health walk leaders
  • Community food growing & poverty reduction
  • Gardening & regeneration and maintenance of green spaces
  • Helping our large number of vulnerable groups in Seaton & Linksfield including but not limited to 55+, families, kids, people in recovery or affected by alcohol/ drugs, socially isolated, differently able, those affected by reduced mental & physical health
  • Outdoor sports
  • Indoor crafts groups
  • Digital inclusion sessions – gaming, training, help with devices
  • Neighbourhood tidy ups & safety team members
  • Fundraisers
  • Cooking on a budget
  • Photography & film production
  • Reporting media articles & interviews
  • Artists, street art, sculpture & design
  • Recycling, reducing, reusing project volunteers
  • Team leaders – perhaps you have skills, and would like to help run teams, engage local residents and make a real difference – we need you too!
  • Helping climate change, protecting the environment, promoting active travel & a 20-minute neighbourhood

Anyone can volunteer, from anywhere. For those able to volunteer from home instead, there are opportunities for running online sessions, helping with admin, design and much more – EVERYONE has an activity they can do with us, or may wish to do with us.

In fact we hereby give notice, if you feel there is something you would like to do, but is not mentioned, then suggest it, and if it fits our charitable purposes, and you are willing to help get a team together, then we will do it!

What can you expect from us?

  • No set hours – you choose when you are able to help us, it is a gift your time. So there are no fixed expectations from us, or ever excuses needed when that thing called life happens. Just update us if you are going to miss a session, come along when you are next available. Attend weekly, monthly, once a year. WE ALWAYS are thankful for all assistance.

  • Training such as food hygiene, health & safety, gardening, walk leader award, and more
  • Opportunity to achieve volunteering awards such as Muir’s Trust, Saltire
  • Full reference for your volunteering with us, as a Scottish charity, to help your student studies, future job applications and career choices!
