Fresh Community Wellness SCIO

Salutogenic approach to health & community wellness

Thank you Debbie, Scott, Steven & SHELL SOV!

Shell SOV & Fresh vs Storm Arwen.

Humbled & happy to introduce the start of our efforts for Seaton neighbourhoods, to the incredible volunteer team from Shell SOV, Aberdeen. This was back on Friday 26th November, 2021. The awesome Debbie Johnston arranged this, via teams, with Scott Stephens & Steven Grant too. We thought it would be nice to get a post up with the new website launch!

This was a ‘trying’ feat of endurance, creating garden borders, planting and much more throughout Seaton & Linksfield. All whilst battling the might of Storm Arwen, steadily growing in strength! It was thanks to the hard work and efficiency of the Shell SOV team that despite the weather – progress could still be made!

Arriving from 08:30, the Shell SOV team plus some Fresh volunteers, over 30 bodies, made an incredible start on the SNUG community garden, as well as some planting of bulbs from Aberdeen St Nicholas Rotary Club donation, at the planters by Promenade court, Linksfield.

Working for around 4 hours, the results were astounding. Reused pallets for fencing borders, many plants from Fleur Variables and other kind donors, were also planted around the area. The hard work and dedication by Debbie and all of the Shell SOV team was incredible, right up until the end photo when everyone was virtually lifted off their feet by driving gales & sleet!

See a video taken from high up in one of the local high rises, via Norman Wood/ Aberdeen in colour on Facebook – you can see some of the team working away in sleet and snow!

“A well needed break half way through was essential, everyone soaked through & freezing!”. Hope to catch up with the team soon, a huge thanks from all of our team & all of the Seaton community too!”
