“Incredible morning chatting with some of the residents group at Lord Hay’s Court. Their garden is legendary in Seaton neighbourhoods, and we are delighted to bring some volunteers along to not only lend a hand, but bridge generational barriers, listening to, and learning from, a wealth of life experience.”

Janice & Margaret at the coffee morning today. Janice has been working on the Lord Hay’s Court garden areas, as well as volunteering throughout the whole community for several years now.
We have been chatting with Janice throughout the past year, working out when would be a good time to get together and join forces. Anyone who knows Janice will be aware, that she is a driving force for positive change in the local community. We are delighted to be able to bring some volunteers along to help out, as well as learning some fantastic tips for gardening from her too.

It was nice to speak to a variety of residents attending the regular coffee morning today, lot’s of positivity and great ideas. Then we settled down to talk with Janice, Margaret & Donna, along with Tim & Lucy. A huge thank you for having us along, and we are looking forward to getting started.

The forward plan will be a regular morning session, we are to be looking at local schools, to see what their interest may be in engaging with some inter-generational volunteering/ activity sessions. These have been run in the past to great affect, We are looking initially at assistance with the gardening, some painting & building work. As well as some options for music, crafts, art, table tennis & other indoor games & activities.
